Museum & Archival Studies is one of the areas of specialization within the LSU College of Art & Design's Doctor of Design in Cultural Preservation.

This specialization combines the history of art and design with current best practices in administration, conservation, pedagogy, cultural interpretation, and technical expertise.In association withLSU's School of Library and Information Science, the Museum & Archival Studies option supports combined academic study of the preservation and transmission of cultural and social heritage, protection of legal rights of individuals and institutions, and custodial responsibilities of governments or organizations.This includes training in administration, appraisal, description, education, and preservation skills.Students enrolled in the Archival Studies specialization will also receive theGraduate Certificate in Archival Studiesthrough completing therequired coursework.
